Vine Furniture

Architecture

Vine Furniture brings together four buildings, more than 100 years old, last renovated in the 1970s. Our design creates a mixed-used space, with a focus on adding natural daylight and modernizing and standardizing the multiple construction systems throughout.

By pulling the entry away from the street, we activate a ground level commercial space and provide a pedestrian link between Market Square and the 100 Block of Gay Street. Removing a brick-enclosed fire stair and restoring the face of the building—which had 30 feet cut off during Summit Hill’s construction—further contributes to downtown Knoxville’s vitality.
