Urban Wilderness Wayfinding

Architecture

The Y-shape structure provides wayfinding and shade in Knoxville’s Urban Wilderness parks. Its design is easy to build and install, incorporating low-maintenance materials. Volunteers for the Urban Wilderness non-profit have used the original design—made for Meads Quarry—to build and install similar pavilions throughout the 1,000 forested-acre parks. The pavilions have been a significant feature in bringing traffic to the parks and the South Knoxville area.
